Plantraising
The seedling and germination phase is the foundation of successful plant growth, making proper tools and conditions essential. The Seed Germination category at Grow Island includes everything needed to cultivate strong and healthy plants from seeds.
We offer:
- Root-stimulating substrates like Eazy Plug
- Seed germination enhancers and propagators
- Romberg accessories for propagation systems
- Soil heating cables, thermostats, and heating mats for stable temperatures
For cannabis seed germination, all that is needed is water, air and warmth. Under 21–30°C, seeds typically sprout within 2-7 days, while temperatures above 31°C may negatively impact germination. The process begins as the seed shell cracks and reveals the first tiny root, followed by the emergence of two cotyledon leaves reaching towards the light.
Overwatering is the most common issue during germination, causing oxygen depletion and seed failure. The substrate should be evenly moist but not soaked. Excess water should drain easily to prevent drowning the seeds. For Rockwool germination, misting or drop-by-drop watering is best, only when the top 3 mm has dried. Keep in mind that young seedlings can absorb only minimal water, so too much moisture can do more harm than good.
For higher germination rates and strong root development, choose Grow Island’s premium seed germination and propagation tools and create ideal conditions for your plants!
