Sensi Seeds Big Bud

Growers who want big yields will appreciate the Big Bud Feminized. This variety, recognized worldwide for its large harvests, is robust, easy to grow and inherently resistant to mold and pests. It also has a delicious sweet-fruity aroma and taste that is reminiscent of molasses. Thanks to the indica-dominant genetics, consumers can expect a strong, relaxing high.

Big Bud feminized growth pattern

The Big Bud feminized cannabis seeds are 85% indica. This can be seen in the structure and yield of the plants as well as in the intense, relaxing high. Sensi Seeds added Skunk # 1 and Northern Lights to the original Big Bud (which dates back to the 1980s). This results in a plant that is robust, skunk-like and very productive.

It is the feminized version of the variety. Therefore, male plants are unlikely to grow from the seeds, making cultivation easier. The Big Bud has a comparatively short flowering time (from approx. 50 to 65 days), which makes it a good option for quick results. Outdoor growing is best done in mid to late October.

Big Bud Feminized does not reach an impressive height indoors. Depending on the environment, their growth can be limited to only 50 to 100 cm. However, it looks different outdoors: when the plants are fully grown, they can grow to 2 to 2.25 m tall.

They are relatively narrow and have fewer leaves than other variants. The most striking (as the name suggests) are the massive, dense and heavy buds that usually form around the central stem. It is not uncommon for the branches to collapse under their own weight. However, this can be avoided with tension wire or an alternative support.

These resin-coated buds offer exceptional yields, the strain's main selling point. When growing indoors, consumers can expect around 500 to 600 grams per m2. Even larger harvests of around 800 to 1,200 grams per plant are likely to be possible outdoors.

Big Bud feminized thrives in warmer climates with longer summers. Places like the Mediterranean are ideal. Alternatively, the plants can be grown indoors or in a greenhouse.

Since most of the Big Bud yield is obtained from the central stem, the strain is the perfect candidate for SOG (Sea of Green). The plants are flexible and can be trimmed as desired. SCROG (Screen of Green) is also effective and the strain responds well to supercropping and lollipopping.

Effect, taste and smell of the Big Bud feminized

Big Bud feminized is 85% indica. That means the resulting high is strong, sleepy, and soothing. Some consumers also report that the strain triggers silliness and euphoria. Perhaps this is an indication of the 15% sativa of the strain.

The plants produce a pleasant aroma when they grow: sweet, fruity and with a spicy note. This becomes even clearer after the harvest when the buds exude a molasses-like smell. Consumers will recognize this sweet spice in taste and smell.
