We are aware that expectations are high when a legend like Skunk # 1 is reissued as an autoflowering version. Our goal was clear from the start: the car derivative should do justice to its famous mother and further simplify the already simple cultivation behavior. When we look at the positive feedback from the community, we think we did just that.
A hallmark of the Skunk # 1 Automatic, which is based on 35% sativa and 65% indica genes, is the ease with which it can be grown. With this feminized auto variant, the length of the light period does not matter because the flowering begins automatically.
About three weeks after germination, the plants begin to produce large resinous buds. The flowering phase lasts 45 to 55 days, whereby the plants stretch less than the regular Skunk # 1 and remain nice and compact. If you look at the ripe buds, you will be amazed: they are large and dense. The ratio between flowers and leaves is very high for an auto variety. Most of the THC is found in the glittering resin glands, also known as trichomes.
When these automatic seeds germinate in spring, a first harvest in June is definitely possible. Auto-flowering cannabis strains allow multiple harvests per year. Skunk # 1 Auto also thrives indoors under artificial light.
Cultivation techniques such as Sea of Green (SOG) or lollipopping often result in an even larger harvest.
Effect, taste and smell of Skunk # 1 Automatic
Skunk # 1 Auto also comes surprisingly close to the original in terms of effect. The combination of top-heavy high and figure-hugging stone is typical of a hybrid. After just a few puffs, consumers feel a surge of euphoria that comes across as rather energetic, but after a while gives way to a relaxed feeling. You feel comfortably light-headed and deeply relaxed, a bit like after a long sauna session.
The harsh taste of ruderalis, which is found in every autoflowering cannabis strain, is imperceptible during consumption. The gentle smoke does not scratch, it tastes earthy-sweet, but also a little spicy, typically "skunky".
