Arizer XQ2 – Versatile Desktop Vaporizer with Balloon and Whip Systems
The Arizer XQ2 is a powerful stationary vaporizer for dried herbs and aromatic botanical materials. It combines an advanced ceramic convection heater with precise temperature control, a three-speed fan and two different delivery systems. Depending on personal preference, vapour can be enjoyed directly through the whip or conveniently collected in a balloon.
As an advanced development of Arizer’s established desktop devices, the XQ2 offers a large colour display, a clear control interface, a versatile remote control and individually adjustable session settings. Its isolated air path with a replaceable air intake filter supports controlled airflow and simplifies regular maintenance. Multicoloured LED lights indicate the current operating status while giving the device a modern appearance.
Ceramic Convection Heating for Controlled Vapour Production
At the heart of the XQ2 is a high-quality ceramic heating system. During convection heating, hot air flows through the botanical material instead of keeping it in direct contact with a heated surface. This allows heat to pass through the chamber more evenly and supports the controlled extraction of volatile aromatic compounds without requiring combustion.
The temperature can be adjusted in precise 1-degree increments. For use with the whip or balloon system, the operating instructions specify an adjustable range of approximately 170 to 220 °C. Lower settings may support lighter, more aromatic vapour, while higher temperatures can produce denser vapour. Actual results depend on factors including the botanical material, its moisture content, grind consistency, filling quantity and airflow.

Large Colour Display and Convenient Device Control
The easy-to-read colour display shows both the selected target temperature and the current temperature of the heating system. Separate buttons for power, settings, fan operation and menu navigation provide quick access to the most important functions. The desired temperature can be adjusted directly using the arrow buttons.
In addition to temperature, numerous session parameters can be customised. These include display brightness, audio signals, temperature alerts, delay start, automatic shut-off and LED lighting. The temperature display can be switched between Celsius and Fahrenheit, allowing the XQ2 to be adapted to different preferences and environments.
Remote Control with Programmable Temperature Buttons
The supplied remote control allows the XQ2 to be operated without directly accessing the device’s control panel. Large, clearly labelled buttons provide direct control over power, fan speed, temperature, audio signals, the automatic shut-off timer and LED lighting.
Three temperature buttons act as programmable presets. According to the operating instructions, they are factory-set to 170 °C, 185 °C and 200 °C. These default values can be replaced with preferred temperatures. Frequently used settings can therefore be recalled quickly without adjusting the temperature one degree at a time during every session.

Two Delivery Options: Whip and Balloon
The Arizer XQ2 offers two different vapour delivery systems. The whip system enables direct use through an approximately 90 cm silicone tube with a glass mouthpiece. With the balloon system, the integrated fan moves the produced vapour into a balloon. Both methods use the same ceramic convection heater and glass Connoisseur Bowl.
The whip system is suitable for sessions in which vapour is drawn directly and on demand. The balloon system temporarily holds the vapour in the bag, allowing flexible use away from the base device. The included balloon cap helps seal the filled balloon between draws and reduces unwanted vapour loss.
Whip System with a Three-Speed Fan
To use the whip system, place the filled Connoisseur Bowl on the heater and attach the long glass whip adapter with its silicone tube. The instructions recommend allowing the material to warm for approximately three to five minutes after the selected temperature has been reached. Vapour can then be drawn slowly and steadily through the glass mouthpiece.
The integrated fan offers Low, Medium and High settings in addition to an Off position. It can be activated while drawing to support the airflow. This allows draw resistance and airflow to be adapted to personal preference and the contents of the chamber. Slow, controlled airflow can promote more even heat transfer through the botanical material.
The chamber should not be packed too tightly, as excessive compression can restrict airflow. A coarse to medium grind and a loosely distributed filling make it easier for hot air to pass through the material. Occasional stirring can support more even use of the chamber contents. The Bowl must be removed from the device before stirring because the glass and filling chamber become hot during operation.
Balloon System for Comfortable Sessions
The balloon system consists of a balloon bag, balloon connector, balloon cap, Mini Whip and frosted glass mouthpiece. After preheating, the balloon is connected to the Connoisseur Bowl through the Mini Whip. The fan can then be set to the desired speed to move vapour into the bag.
The three fan settings provide different filling speeds. A slower setting extends the filling time and moves heated air more gradually through the material, while a higher setting fills the balloon more quickly. The most suitable option depends on the temperature, filling quantity and desired vapour density.
After filling, detach the balloon from the Mini Whip and insert the frosted glass mouthpiece. The silicone cap can be used to close the balloon between draws. If the balloon begins to fill noticeably more slowly over time, the bag may require replacement or the dome screen inside the Mini Whip may need cleaning.
Connoisseur Bowl with Two Chamber Sizes
A distinctive feature of the XQ2 is its glass Connoisseur Bowl. It can be placed on the device in two different orientations, providing two chamber sizes. The larger Cloud Chamber positions its glass screen closer to the heating element. It holds more botanical material and supports stronger, denser vapour production, making it suitable for multiple balloon fillings or longer sessions.
The smaller Flavor Chamber positions the glass screen farther away from the heater. It has a lower capacity and is intended for lighter, flavour-focused use or smaller filling quantities. This side can be a practical choice for personal sessions and more conservative dosing.
Arizer recommends using the integrated glass screen on its own. For particularly finely ground material, the included flat metal screen can be added when required. The two heat-resistant silicone Tuff BowlGrips fit onto the ends of the Bowl and make the warm glass component easier to handle.
Aromatherapy with Dried Botanicals
In addition to vaporization, the XQ2 offers a separate aromatherapy function. The supplied glass dish can be used with suitable dried aromatic botanicals such as lavender, chamomile or orange peel. Heated air releases their aromas, while the fan helps distribute them throughout the room.
For this application, the operating instructions specify a lower temperature range of approximately 100 to 150 °C. Fill the aromatherapy dish with dry botanical material and place it directly on the device. A low fan setting distributes the aroma without blowing the lightweight material out of the dish.
Liquids, essential oils and other fluid additives must not be placed in the aromatherapy dish. Liquid can enter the device and cause damage that may not be repairable. The dish is intended exclusively for suitable dry botanical materials.
Intelligent LED Lighting with Eight Colours
The LED lighting in the device base and heating area is not merely decorative; it can also display the current operating status. Available options include a dynamic mode, a continuously changing spectrum mode, eight individual colours and completely deactivated lighting.
In dynamic mode, the lighting changes according to the device status. During heating, it shifts between yellow and orange. It flashes green twice when the target temperature is reached and pulses orange while a stable temperature is maintained. Purple pulsing appears when the fan is active, while cyan and blue are used during cooling. This makes the current operating state easy to identify from a short distance.
Temperature Alert, Delay Start and Automatic Shut-Off Timer
The optional temperature alert produces two audio signals when the selected temperature is reached. General audio notifications can be set to low or high volume or switched off completely. The colour display also offers two brightness levels.
The delay-start function helps protect against accidental activation. When it is enabled, the power button must be held for approximately two seconds. The programmable automatic shut-off timer can be set in 30-minute increments for up to two hours. Automatic shut-off can be disabled for longer sessions if required, although the operating device should never be left unattended.
Optimised Air Path and Replaceable Filter
The XQ2 features an isolated air path with a replaceable air intake filter on the bottom of the device. The filter helps retain dust and particles from the incoming ambient air. To maintain consistent performance, it should be inspected regularly and replaced when visibly dirty or if airflow begins to decrease.
The reusable filter cartridge can be removed from the bottom after the device has cooled completely. It contains two filter layers whose white sides must face outwards during installation. A clean filter supports unrestricted airflow and reduces strain on the fan. The device should not be operated without its air intake filter installed.
Cleaning and Regular Maintenance
Regular cleaning helps maintain an unrestricted air path, consistent vapour production and a long service life. Before cleaning, switch off the XQ2, disconnect it from the mains and allow it to cool completely. Hot glass components must not come into contact with cold water because rapid temperature changes can cause cracking or breakage.
After removal, glass and metal components and screens can be cleaned with suitable isopropyl alcohol. They should then be rinsed thoroughly with hot water and allowed to dry completely before the next use. The silicone tube must not be soaked in isopropyl alcohol because it may absorb odours and flavours. When necessary, the tube can be soaked in hot water for a few minutes and then rinsed carefully.
Clean the base unit and remote control only with a soft cloth lightly dampened with warm water. Avoid abrasive tools and aggressive cleaning agents. If botanical material falls inside the housing, switch the device off, allow it to cool and carefully turn it upside down so that loose particles can fall out.
